Cosmetic Oculoplastics

A number of both surgical and non-surgical procedures can be performed at the Robert Cizik Eye Clinic to help correct or rejuvenate the appearance of the eyes and surrounding area. These procedures can improve patient’s confidence and comfort.

Cosmetic oculoplastics treatment options for the eyelids, eyebrows, forehead, cheeks, and surrounding areas include fillers, collagen injections, CO2 laser resurfacing, fat grafting, and eyelash growth procedures. Surgical procedures, such as eyelid lifts, brow lifts, and forehead lifts are also great options for many patients.

Blepharoplasty, or an eyelift, will enhance the appearance of patients with sagging or drooping eyelids. Ptosis repair procedures can be performed in the eyelids for both cosmetic and functional improvement. Many of these procedures can be performed in an hour or so during an office visit.

What Kind of Recovery Time is Needed?

Some of the surgeries, such as eyelid surgeries, result in swelling or bruising that may take a week or two to subside. Patients may feel comfortable using cosmetics to cover any remaining bruising after seven to 10 days. Vigorous exercise may be restricted for a few weeks.

Would Insurance Cover My Procedure?

Dr-McCulley-2While medical insurance does not purely cover cosmetic procedures, many of these options also help to correct underlying medical issues. Droopy eyelids, for instance, can impede vision. Our staff will work to help determine whether your procedure may be classified as “medically necessary,” which may make it more likely to be covered by insurance. Our staff is uniquely positioned to address both medical and cosmetic concerns in a professional setting.
