Dr. Stephanie Handal is a therapeutic and glaucoma optometric specialist. Dr. Handal treats both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Handal received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating summa cum laude. A native of El Paso, Texas, she received her bachelor’s degree in music education at the University of North Texas in Denton, graduating magna cum laude in 2005. She earned a master’s degree in music with honors at Sam Houston State University in 2007. She returned to school to study optometry after a 25-year career in music, which included four years as a teaching artist with the Houston Grand Opera and a Grammy Award win during her 10 years with the Houston Chamber Choir.
